All school room mothers raise your hand…no, give yourself a pat on the back! One of those small duties we often participate in while a mom of a school-age child is the chance to become a room mother for our child’s classroom. Although some of us wait for this opportunity, others of us get volunteered, begged by our children, and most of us although love to participate do so on an intermediate level. I personally love participating and try and do so as much as my schedule allows. Yes, my daughter loves that I do and I believe that while it makes me feel good to be at these parties, it makes her feel even better that I’m there and she and her class have my undivided attention.
One of the most common responsibilities of a room mother is participating in Holiday parties. We plan crafts, goodies, games, and many other activities for the children to make their parties both fun and memorable. Now here comes the small problem and I’m sure you’ve been faced with it. What’s a room mom to do that’s in charge of snacks, crafts, or games that hasn’t a clue as to what to organize for the children? While she may have some tried and true ideas that have been around for years, we’re always faced with the dilemma of coming up with something new that the children haven’t already done. We “want” it to be fun! The answer is one of the coolest books I’ve seen in quite awhile. It’s titled, “Parties with Pizzazz” and was published just for us and more specifically to help us answer the question of what we’ll make, bring, organize, etc. It’s the total answer to all our room mother obstacles for party-planning. I was ecstatic to have run into this book and its authors a couple of weeks ago and suggested a product review by myself on the spot after flipping through the book. “How awesome is this?!” I thought. After speaking with one of the authors and telling her how grateful I was that someone had published a book such as this, I definitely felt this book needed to be written about.
If you’re looking to up your expertise in the creation of your children’s parties or even to win some cool points with the kids, Parties with Pizzazz is your answer. Check them out at http://www.pizzazzpublishing.com.
